my name is Cools Jeroen and I am studying to become a secondary school teacher ( English - history).
In my free time I like to play video games. My hobby started on the day I turned 4 four years old. My parents gave me a NES as a birthday present and I was immediately hooked. Since then, I have bought almost every gaming p
latform (also the older ones, because I am trying to collect every platform there is) and I have played an incredible number of games ( way too many to list). I enjoy it very much and I am also interested in everything that is video game-related.
Next school year I will (hopefully) graduate, but before I can get my degree/ diploma, I will have to write a thesis. I have to choose a subject that is related to education to investigate. As mentioned before, I am a gamer, so naturally I chose a subject that combines both my hobby and my work.
In my thesis I want to investigate if/ how video games can be used in English culture lessons. I want to investigate if video games can be discussed in class in the same manner as books, films, poems...
I created this blog so that everyone can follow my progress and comment on what I am doing.
